Our History
We were founded by Abe Taylor (Past President of CAW Local 222) and co-founder Dr. G. A. Morgan D.D.S., F.R.C.D on May 3, 1976, as a non-profit Community Dental Centre. Governed by a dedicated Board of Directors, we’re committed to providing oral health care to the union members and the general public of our community. With a compassionate team and a commitment to excellence, we strive to make a positive impact on the oral health and well-being of those we serve.
We are proud members of UNIFOR Local 1136. Together, we believe in the importance of creating an exceptional workplace environment for the entire team. Principles of Dental Practice
- To prevent, improve, restore and maintain the oral health of the community that is served by Unifor Dental.
- To provide dental services that are accessible to everyone’s needs.
- To treat patients professionally, confidentially, equitably and without discrimination.
- To evaluate and treat dental emergencies via dental treatments, prescriptions, consultations or referrals;
- To decrease the incidence of caries, i.e. the application of topical fluoride treatment and the application of pit and fissure sealants when indicated;
- Create a great work environment that fosters teamwork and treat each other with respect and dignity
- To educate parents and children on the appropriate oral care and the importance of a healthy nutritional program;
- To integrate oral health with overall health.

Our Associates and Specialists
Dr. Hasa
Dr. Hasa Tchakhmakhtchian earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Toronto and completed her dental training in sunny Sydney, Australia. She has been working all around Ontario, where she grew up, since 2019. Dr. Hasa enjoys all aspects of dentistry and strives to provide the most comfortable and compassionate experience for her patients. She is fluent in Russian and Armenian and is a member of the Ontario Dental Association. When not working, she enjoys travelling and going on adventures with her son.
Dr. Maggie
Meet Dr. Maggie Zhou, one of our dedicated dentists at Unifor Dental Centre, where patient care is paramount. With an Honours bachelor of Health Sciences (McMaster) and a Doctor of Dental Medicine (UWA, Australia) degree, Dr. Maggie is committed to providing the best dental care tailored to each patient's needs. Trust in Dr. Maggie for a compassionate approach and exceptional dental care. Beyond the clinic, Dr Maggie finds joy in exploring new destinations, cherishing moments with her beloved dog, and sharing quality time with family and friends.
Dr. Shah
Dr. Needhi Shah believes that as a patient, you should expect to be treated with utmost care and respect. Dr. Shah wants to be your dentist for life, and will strive to address your concerns thoroughly and efficiently. Dr. Shah obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the prestigious UCLA School of Dentistry. Patients can trust in Dr. Shah's comprehensive knowledge and skillful approach to achieving optimal oral health and beautiful smiles.
Dr. Barkin
Since 2013, Unifor Dental has been proud to have Dr. S. Barkin as part of our team. With years of experience and expertise in oral surgery, Dr. Barkin is dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients in a relaxing environment. Beyond technical skill, he is known for his compassionate approach and ability to connect with patients on a personal level.
Dr. Schure
Dr. Ryan Schure is our skilled periodontist, he specializes in diagnosing and treating conditions affecting the gums and supporting structures of the teeth offering a comprehensive range of periodontal services.
Mike Dunn
Mike has been serving our community for over 30 years. As a denture specialist Mike discusses with each of his patients their needs. He creates beautiful smiles, restores patient confidence and assists with improving his patient’s ability to eat and enjoy food contributing positively to their dietary health.
